Harrisonburg, VA- January

Directions

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but basically hit I-81 and get off at the Route 33W exit. Then follow 33W as it winds through town (kind of tricky if you're not paying attention to the signs very well) for a few miles, and McDorman's is a little gas station on the left. Correct?

Here's a good question: What time are we gonna meet at McDorman's? Anybody object to around 9:30am?

THANKS YO, I THINK I KNOW ABOUT EXACTLY WHERE THAT IS...930 SOUNDS GOOD TO ME...MAN THATS GONNA BE AN EARLY MORNIN

The earlier the better, i'm just looking forward to going!!!!

Happy trailes!

I'm still hoping to go. I go to Tech also so i'll have to meet up with sc4wda XLT and RU MAN to drive up there. Over the break i'm gonna try to get some front tow hooks and a hitch, maybe even TT and shackels. But as long as my parents don't keep me from going (since technically it is their's :( ), i'll be there.

10:00 originally, now yob's suggesting 9:30...

Makes no difference to me, just need to pick a time and stick to it. Some folks have a couple hours of driving to get there, so we need to keep that in mind...

I ordered some warrior shackles today and plan to get the F150 coil spacers and then mount some 31's on the Ex. Not sure if I'll be done by then and may bring the Ranger anyway. It's my daughter's turn to ride along, so I guess it'll be her choice...

How did I miss that?! I read back through the thread and didn't see the time mentioned. Guess I didn't look closely enough. Oops. :o
No biggy though, 9:30, 10:00, it's all the same to me.

Man, get the Explorer done! You've already done the trails with the Ranger, so it'll be new all over again if you bring the Explorer. :)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting the Explorer in shape for some wheelin' - just not the best time of year to be asking for extras for the truck with three kids writing out their wish lists! I think I can get it all together in time, so we'll see. The key is just getting out on the trails again - it's been too long!

NO NO NO:fire:

Bad news!!!

The trans in my BII took a crap.:( I'm working on getting a replacement now. I hope to have i running by then, but you never know. I hope to see ya'll on the trail. I'll keep ya'll updated on the BII.

:redexp: :shoot:

Count me in fellas. I will also relay this to the NC, SC, and GA members of the ECX in my mailing list.

What's up with you and trannies when it's time to wheel at GWNF? Maybe you've been cursed or something. You didn't cross any ancient burial grounds or something the first time you went or anything did you?

I really hope you get it fixed in time. I was looking forward to getting a chance to actually wheel with ya.

So Jan 19th 2001, Harrisionburg VA. we will run some trails in the GWNF near Rawley Springs. Could be snow, could be some ice, could be cold, but will be fun. As the date gets closer Ill add more detail to the trail route but as of now I plan to run up Old long run road, down Second Mtn , and across 33 run the Dry River trail (not run on any of the previous runs)- Dry river is a fairly level trail that parrallels the Dry River and crosses it a couple of times -a few more mud holes than Second mtn- which has been graded again so may not be that interesting(second mtn.) -before heading home.
Meeting at 10 at Mc Dormans- although maybe in Hburg. should be done by 3 with stops.

To go on this ride you need a vehicle, or at least a seat with someone, Tow hooks are suggested , CB suggested- stock no problem, Ive done most of these with my 235 shod Navajo, just need to be patient. Questions post em.

John wanted to start at 9:30 so thats the only change to whats posted above. Ill post some more specifics after the first of the year, once I get some trail info and decide a route. For those not able or willing to go all day, there will be opprotunity to head home without back tracking at different points.

Look forward to seeing the trails filled with Explorers BIIs and Rangers- and a former user who has fallen off the wagon!

Yeah, you guys will be freezing your butts off while we are enjoying nice 70 degree wheeling! :D Have fun anyway. It's cool we'll have two explorer runs happening at the same time. One on the west coast and one on the east coast!

Freezing -I hope

Char,

weve had the warmest weather in something like 110 years this fall, it MAY be 70 when we hit the trails!!, hopefully we can have some snow though to make things interesting!!

Have Fun

Ditto to that.

I would love to see snow, but with as unseasonably warm as it has been, not sure if we'll see it.

If it is cold (which it should be), all the better! Helps keep the engine cool!:)

Either way it should be a fun run. I'm 100% on going now and it would be an act of God if I neglect to make it!

Can't wait!:bounce:

BTW Steve, thanks for the e-mail!

I'm hoping to get cracking on everything over the holiday and should get it done. I'll keep you posted on how everything goes!

Hey yall...saw ya didnt have my name or truck info on the list. Names Jason and im runnin 31X10.5 BFG A/T. Hope to have mild 1.5 inch lift by trail time. Just thought yall would like to know who youre runnin with.

question. i know these trails are supposed to be stocker friendly but is anyone going to be running anything a little more challenging. I got a little drive that morning and just want to get the most out of the trip.
