I have only found one high quality model, but it is an ST Line, not the ST. It's from China, with Chinese writing on the front plate, and English on the rear.

I bought a nice diecast of our 2004 Mach 1 when it came out and it has just about tripled in value already.

Wow, this makes me sad. There's really nothing out there?

Too bad Dinky Toys no longer exist. ;)

According policecarmodelsdotcom facebook page Motorworks will be offering a 1/24 scale police version. More than likely will offer in civilian trim version to get the most from the casting.

For the Happy Camper soon to be released..

I heard it was too difficult to reproduce all the Chicago Assembly production and quality control issues, so release of accurate Explorer models has been delayed quite a bit...
The ones that have already been shipped will have to be returned so they can weld the rear axle to prevent if from rolling

:)

I had seen that. I would really like 1:18 since they are much more detailed. I may end up just getting what's out there before they disappear. The Chinese ST Line is a really nice model.

Lead in paint standards in Asia do not necessarily meet USA standards so these are probably intended for display only.

Heard in a diecast model builder forum they are not easy to disassemble not for the novice.

I promise not to eat it or lick it ;)

No kids here, so no issue with that.

The 1/24 scales are out, not ST's but a good base to modify. Two civilian and a few different PI versions for first releases.
Search "motormax 2020 explorer diecast" for some vendors.

Picking some up and going to try modifying it into a Timberline
