Has anyone relocated their oil filter on a 5.0L

I been browsing behind the scenes for a while now, reading and learning. I just bought a 97 5.0L AWD approx a month ago.

My question is has anyone relocated their oil filter or installed a bypass type filter, such as Amsoil, on a V8?

I changed the oil the other day and ended up with oil on everything under the filter. It's angled to spill oil and it's a very tight fit.

Anyone with experience, thoughts or ideas other than poking a hole in the filter before removal.

I plan on installing the Amsoil By Pass set up very soon.

To make your filter change clean and easy, slip a gallon size xip loc bag over it and remove, narry a drop of oil will spill.
