have idea about the keys

im going to be getting a copy of my key soon.

this key is consideribly wider than my key and will not in my ignition

what the bigger key goes in to

my question is... can i pop off the peice that you put your hand on to turn the key or do i just have to grind it down and do you guy recommend this?

I myself would grind off the plastic. Don't think it would have any adverse effects.

I like the key choice, hate having the seperate FOB. Where did you find the key with the FOB in it?

its a factory ford key. my friends 08 escape has it. i hate the seperate key fob myself

That key probably wont work in your Sport. I think a sport has the pats system and that key with the built in fob does not.

That key will work on 3rd and 4th gen explorers, no idea if it will work on a sport.
Not sure if the FOB will work on it either...
Maybe you can get one of those flip ones at ebay specifically made for your generation...

this? it says it works on an 03 and up explorer. im assuming its a 3rd gen.

Is yours a Sport as in 2 doors? if so I don't think it'll work, if it is a 4 door with the sport package, then it should work with no problems.

2 door. im not thinkin it will work either. i dont know. i might do some more research
