Has anyone heard of the power steering failing in late model explorers?

I never heard of a FORD period that had a good power steering unit....

i know the fords PS are noisy but ive never seen one give out. its always that 40 dollar plastic part that is needed for the engine to run. it usually has wires coming out of it.
