I been working on a 94 Explorer 4dr XLT, it has 95,000 miles on it. Just recently it has been detitinating real bad. Even running the Super unleaded gas in it. Now I have pulled codes from the computer, the only code that I get is for both O2 sensors reading both rich and lean. When its taken on long trips the engine light comes on. I figured out that the O2 sensors are causing the engine light. Now would the O2 sensors also cause the problem of the detitination. If some one else has had this problem, please let me know what you did. I'm pulling out what little hair I have left.

Thanks

Yes the O2 sensors can cause your detitination problem. The sensors tell the computer how rich or how lean your motor is running. If you buy new ones (which sounds like you will) buy good ones. I would buy new ones from ford.
