I bought a Pro Com add-a-leaf but don't have the courage or the tools to install them. Any ideas on who I can get to install these and price wise.

There is a local custom shop that will do it for 240 bucks, like 4 hours of labor is how they calculated it. and they would need a press??

I'm thinking that's alittle much, thanks for your help!

Oh and just to confirm, I don't think the 02 sports have a monoleaf, but I am not sure? How can I find this out for sure?

I talked to a 4 wheel shop here in town. They quoted me at $160 installed and out the door! That price was IF the kit didn't include the center bolt (which mine does...) WITH the center bold it's only $145 (expensive bolt!!!)

Now that sounds more like it. Did you have your shackles installed at the same time? or did you do that yourself?

I just called one of the local dealerships around here and they will install it for 145, I guess I just needed to shop around.

Also, This is a better solution that just adding helper springs right??

Depends on who you talk to but I think installing shackles adds instability, which the Explorer doesn't need. I'd go with the AAL or the F150 mod (see the 'sticky' at the top of this Forum). Just my $0.02.
Dave.

That all sounds expensive to me. I am in Surrey BC Canada. We have a spring shop here that quoted me $225 :can: (Canadian bucks) to do the leafs on my 93 xlt which would include

1. Pull the springs - clean em up
2. Re- Arc my springs
3. Add a custom cut leaf
4. includes u-bolts and all other misc. hardware.

well in my opinion the whole thing is pretty simple,i went out bought a 40 jack, 20 jack stands and used the bottle jack out of the back of the truck to hold up what i needed when i needed it, took me about 3 hrs, wasn't difficult at all, i'd rather spend the money to get the tools, most of which u can rent free from a local shop like autozone or napa, do it urself, spend a little time on ur truck,
my .02, don't take it like i'm being a c*@k, just saying.
