Yes, esentially there are 2 harnesses. You have the part that is really long and goes to the old amp. Its purpose is to connect to where the old speaker outs where from the amp (4 speakers, 2 wires per speaker, 8 wires, just like that harness has). You don't have the part that connects to the factory harness in the dash. I am not sure how to get ahold of one of those since the one you need only has 4-5 wires on it. You could always cut the factory harness and solder the wires directly, but I think that is a bad idea, so I would just order another kit, or get a normal kit from best buy or some place and just tape off the wires you won't be needing. Up to you.
As far as bypassing the amp, look at it this way. Your new stereo has an amp built into it. It puts out probably somewhere between 20-25 watts rms to your speakers. It is also pretty good quality, meaning low distortion, at least compared to factory stuff of any sort. Now, your factory amp is going to be better than simply the factory radio (which also has a small amp in it, but a pathetic one) but no where near as good as the one in your new stereo. The sound quality will be much better with the new stereo's built in amp.
