hey guys, i'm wanting to get a pioneer deh-750mp (mp3 cd player) and the ts-d680r 6" x 8" speakers. my question is 1) do people think those are a good speakers/head unit, and 2)do i HAVE to buy an external amp. i have a 2000 x with the premium or mach (whihever is the better one, i believe premium) sound system. thanks for the advice.

You don't have to buy a separate amp to run the 4 corners, the HU will do just fine.

I've had 2 pioneer units and like them very much.

thanks for the reply, anyone else have an opinion?

that combo will work very nicely, no amp is needed.

I have the pioneer ts 6870's.... i liked these door speakers alot better, the 4 ways sounded way to tinny to me, too much of the power was going to thw tweeters....i listened to both the 3 and 4 ways in the store, and liked the sound of the 3 ways much better. there is a thread somewhere in the audio section about the differences between them, but ya that HU is a good choice
