This is for my father in law that has just purchased a new 2003 explorer. He is trying to find an exhaust system for the v8. He cannot find headers that will fit the new truck. any suggestions?
i ordered a set of pre coated headders from JET-HOT. they do a hi temp ceramic coating for just about anything, it comes out looking like chrome, and is guranteed to never chip, crack, rust etc...for as long as you own the product they coated. they were 375$ for my 1994. you can find them at www.jet-hot.com
no one makes headers for the new model 4.6 X's yet. as far as i know, no one makes a cat-back exhaust either. there are several guys here who had custom exhausts made.
Hey buddy talk to John V at Explorer Express. They already have the V-8 4.6 liter explorer headers out or it is real soon that they will be. That is what John himself told me when I takled to him. Just go to their website and look for the phone number to call directly as I dont think they have updated their site with the new headers available yet. By they way. I have a custom 2.5 " true dual exhaust setup on my 03 4.6 liter explorer and it is very nice. If he has the patience your father can wait for a few months and see what blk mk8 and TROLL produce from their upcoming 4.6 liter exhaust project truck. Heck if your dad lives near southern Florida you could tell him that he could get a kickass deal from Dan and Bill for being the actual project truck that they take the measurements from for their soon to be produced dual exhaust kit for our V-8 new gen explorers.
I believe Borla makes a single catback exhaust setup for it. Just check around and you should find it. EE might have the too. But if I am going to buy and aftermarket exhaust for a V-8 then mine will always be an actual dual setup.
