I've been through 3 passenger side headlight bulbs in the past few months. (9007). The last one I put in only lasted two days! And they haven't just gone out, they actually BLOW APART!!!
So where should I start looking? I have fairly new lamp harnesses, and a new multi-function (turn signal) switch.
Would it be easier to just run new wires for the headlights?
Thanks!
Dave

Make sure you don't touch the glass at all when you are replacing the lamp. The oil from your fingers causes the bulb to overheat and the glass will break. Also, check to make sure there is no water in the lens.. cold water vs hot bulb is not good.

OK, took apart the headlight assembly....what a PITA!!!

Now that I think about it...I may have touched the last two bulbs...

I took out the headlight to look inside, all I found was broken glass from the bulbs, and dumped it out clean.

I'm going to get a new bulb tomorrow and try again....could the broken glass have caused the last one to blow?

did u rinse out the lens? if not it may be fogged slightly from the gas in the bulbs i know mine was when the bulb blew a few years ago if so some windex and a hose works nice lol and next time use rubber gloves when putting the bulbs in and if u even think u hit the glass clean it with some rubbing alchol but make sure its dry before u turn them on

nope...didn't rinse out the lense, good idea though!
Put a new bulb in this past Friday. I was extremely careful to not tought the bulb! So far, so good!
At least now if I ever want to upgrade my headlights & corners I'll know how to get them out!
