I have a fix!!!
Tools and material: jack, 2 zip ties, socket wrench with a 12 point 12mm socket and this special grease from Ford its teflon grease Part Number D2AZ-19590-A. this stuff cost 30.00 bucks. Took me 2 yrs to figure this out. Its your drive shaft, unfortunitly you cant buy a new updated one any more. So heres the fix. These suvs have 2 piece drive shafts. Instead of the slip joint being in the transmision tail shaft housing its not. These drive shafts are bolted to the rear 4x4 transfer case and also bolted to the rear of the differential. In the middle of th drive shaft theres a boot. The slip joint is inside that boot. Jack the car from under the pumkin wheels dont have to be off the ground. We just want to take the stress off the drive shaft. Unbolt the shaft from the pumkin (4 12pt 12mm bolts). Cut the 2 metal straps that hold the boot on the shaft. Pull the 2 shafts apart. You should see a male and female drive shaft the male end should be blue take carb cleaner and thoroughly clean the male end. On the female end spray carb cleaner inside let it soak for 10mins. Use compressed air to dry it out. Generously apply the teflon grease to the male and female parts of the shaft inside and out. Put the boot back on the male side first and secure it whit a zip tie. Then line up the splines to reinsert the female end to the male end. Bolt the shaft to the pumpkin. Then zip tie the other end of the boot. Lower the car and drive. This will take care of the problem. Hit me up with any questions.
