Judging from other posts this is not a blend door problem. When AC is on I get cold air. When the heat is on I get hot air. The problem being with ac on and the dash vents selected I get air from dash vents but my feet end up freezing from air coming out lower vents too. Works same with heat selected. Any ideas here. I suspect vacuum leak but can't find one. I haven't found the plug through the fire wall. Any pictures with the you are here arrows for a 99 explorer XLT.

do you have auto climate control? on mine, vent actually means vent, meaning it opens a vent door to let in air from outside. if i want hot or cold air to come from the dash, i have to select "panel/floor".but you can't have JUST the dash vents blowing.

Check out this thread, might help as it has pictures and diagrams of the climate control vacuum lines
NO AC FROM VENTS!!! A "How to" what to look for thread

I have auto air and vent on mine means the vents that are above the radio

Thanks

My controls are the manual type. I'm not sure if this is vacuum leak problem or just a door out of adjustment. Thanks Kriegen for the direct to the other thread. That guy did a great job putting that together. I still think I should trace down the vacuum lines, after 11 years of rubber rotting it couldn't hurt. I still would appriciate any input about how to adjust this door.

well i guess i should do some diagnostic work as well.
