Hello everyone. Going on a long trip, and my temp gauge doesn't work. Never worked since I got the truck (it's a
94). Hoping it's the sender. Where is the sender on the motor? I should have a temp gauge for the trans, since that's what I'm worried about most, but don't really have enough time to install one.
Thanks...

Top of the motor, front of the lower intake manifold.. kinda behind the t-stat housing (when looking from the front)...

You can check if its the sending unit by taking the 1 wire off the sending unit, and grounding the wire (when the key in the On posiion). If the gauge moves, then the sender was problably bad, if it doesn't move, bad gauge or broken wire somewhere.

Thanks a lot. Easy fix. Just haven't worked on the truck before. Last time I changed one of these things was on a dodge 360, and coolant came raining down on me. For some reason it was near the bottom of the motor. Again, thanks.
Michael.
