heat sheild

is there a heat sheild above the tranny in a 2002 explorer ? got a rattle down there soulds like a heat shield but its comeing from neat the tranny, hope its not tranny issues lol thanks,

I don't have one over the transmission in my 03, however there are several around my exhaust... Is the rattle on the drivers side?

it almost sounds like its comeing from the tranny i was just hopeing it was a hear shield lol but if its not im not evan sure what i would be prob something very bad lol

Hop under there and bang some stuff around... You'll be able to feel if something's loose.

i put my hand on the tranny and u can feel it kinda rattle inside lol might need a new tran funny thing is it shifts good all it dose is kinda whine when u push the gas as ur going down the road but its not to loud hardly noticable
