Heated seat problem 2002 Ford Explorer

I have a 2002 (early model) Ford Explorer Eddie Bower. The driver side heated seat quit working. The indicator light is working but no heat on bottom or back. I have checked the obvious fuses and loose or broke connections so far. I am looking for some troubleshooting help to isolate the issue.

Sometimes the switch fails but more commonly the heating element breaks. It's basically a heating pad element and getting in and out of the seat fatigues the wire until it snaps.
