Electric heated windscreens are great, does anyone know if there is one made for a 1997 Ford Explorer?
Thanks :)

I think you're in the wrong section of the forum.

Welcome, and I don't think there has ever been one available. I'd love to have the feature myself, some glass company could make it but never would because the vehicle would have to have some wiring added(they have no market for it). If they made it, I would buy it, and I can handle the simple wiring.

Thank you. I too could handle the wiring and I think anyone who made this would put in a couple of instructions. I have just sold a car that had the Ford heated screen and as my car stays out all night it was a much used accessory. Price dependent I would definitely buy one.

I think the only viable possibility would be if the actual glass dimensions matched some later model which could fit. I had a 91-94 Explorer windshield installed into my 99's body, because I wanted the old type of mirror mount. The glass is identical for 91-01, but the 95-01's come with the slightly different mirror mount(the mirror presses on, the is no set screw or tool required).

So a glass expert may know something about different glass dimensions, that would be the next possible step I think.
