I have been reading up on pulling the dash in my '98 for heater core and blend door fix. What I have read is unclear in one area, do I need to open the AC lines to remove the heater core/heater box?
Hi. I recently replaced my heater core. Be prepared for a full day. I was told that you don't have to remove the a/c lines but I did anyways and I am glad I did. I have the V8 so its pretty tight and the a/c lines don't move very much. It only cost me around $100.00 to discharge and recharge the a/c. and avoiding scraped knuckles was worth it. GOOD LUCK. Just a note. If you are replacing the heater core go with the Ford part. It comes with the foam sealer already installed and only costs about $20.00 more than the aftermarket ones.
