Heater Hose Issue 07 Exp

My 07 Explorer Limited ruptured a heater hose last week. Happened when the motor was cool, never heated up so thankfully it's okay, just need a new hose.

Mech checked it and reported that it melted since it's close to the exhaust, It's hard to reach and replace and it's a known issue in these vehicles. My search in the forums came up empty so I thought I'd offer new thread.

Anyone familiar with the issue?
Anyone else had this problem?
What was your repair cost?

I have had the Auxiliary hose bust when I was on the freeway going 70.. I then floored the crap out of the V8 and when I was at 110, I shut it off and coasted to a safe spot. Then towed it home. taking it to the dealership to have them tell me it was the auxiliary hose and it was going to cost 270ish dollars for the part and 250ish for the labor... I had them install it as I was too lazy. If you would like a part number.. PM me and I can look at my receipts for it.
