hey guys and gals,

i have a '99 EB with the electronic HVAC controls. no matter what mode i select, i.e. vent, defrost, floor, A/C, etc. the air only blows out of my floor and defrost vents. also, its stuck on about 75-80 degrees, not matter what its set to. the A/C doesnt work. one day it sounded like something kept clicking under my dash board for about 10-15 minutes. it sounded like it was a gate opening and closing for the HVAC. that stopped and it hasnt come back.

my question is could there be any other cause for these malfunctions other than a busted control unit?

ken :us:

Be prepared to pull the dashboard for the fix. The flap controller is a motor comparable to the throttle body positioner on the engine. My '97 dealer fix was $750+ and 2 work days tied up for the work to be done. Not good news.

Blower Fix

It sounds like your blower blend door is broken. This a well documented problem. Search this site or the internet for that matter for "blendoor fix'.

You should find instructions on how to fix the blendoor actuator without having to remove the entire dash.

IF you are referring to you blower not going off, It could be a bad relay. Check the relays in the secondary relay box under your air intake, on the passsenger side.

I hope this helps
