Ok so today I took my first road trip in the xplorer. So we went about 400 miles today and was great no problems. On the way home it was just getting hot in the cab, my mom was driving at the time. My eyes start freaking out if i drive to long. She would keep turning the cold/warm knob cooler and cooler. Ya it was still the dame temp. I don't know if this just started to happen or I never noticed it. I have tried to understand peoples posts on blend door issue. It did give me some info on this, but it sounds like those issues are the a/c door not closing. So if i just have a diff version of this issues. if so dam it, thats going to blow if i try and replace that, but i should be able to hold off till spring.

Also this issues and the issue i have with the a/c compressor clutch engaging and disabling all the time when i have the mode on head/feet. Doesn't do it on any other mode like just feet or head. Haven't had it on defrost long enough to notice, but i think it has too.

just a thought here. if the wire plug is plugged in for the knob in the back. would the light for for the green and red light up, or is that lite up with a different plug or source.

Cause i just installed a new HU, so i might have missed one and i wanted to ask before i rip into that.

Yes it would however you might not have put the wire in all the way so check it again. More likely than not it's the blend door though, I had the same problem. It's an easy check, just pull out the actuator motor and get a flashlight and small mirror. Takes like 5 min to check it, fixing it is the hard part lol.

wheres the acuator motor located

So I dont need to rip the dash out, with this walkthrough. it looks real good from just glancing at it. I don't see anything about removeing the dash other than the glove box.

You don't even remove the glove compartment, you bend the sides in a little and it'll drop right down giving you enough room. Make sure you know where to drill the hole if it's not the same picture as in the walkthrough, mine was different and i drilled three different holes before i realized i had the positioning backwards lol.

The pics look good, but I don’t understand any of it till I rip into it, so is it that hard to do this. About how long do you think it could take? I have all the tools I would need. I just don’t like working on little things like this, I have a tendisey to brake things like this or screw it up unbelievable.

I was confused until I took it apart too but it's fairly simple. I'd say half an hour should do it depending on your skill level.

where would i acquire a dentist mirror

autozone has em as do most auto stores, apparently sears has them from the above post. It costs like 10 bucks plus you'll use it 100's more times working around the car, i can guarantee that.

I bet I probably could h ave used it before. I will wait on this for a while cause I have heat and it cold out. I don't understand why my Max A/C works that is strange, does it just over power the heat and make it cold.

So I was driving home last Wednesday, and I turned the knob to cold. Guess what it got cold, I could hear the door open and close. You think it could have just been stuck. I put it back to hot so if it did get stuck it would be on hot.

The door is probably cracked or cracking, it'll work but be ready for it to break.
