If you have a steering stabilizer, give me a little help:

I noticed on the JC Whitney site it says, "Heckethorn®Heavy-duty Hydraulic Steering Stabilizer without boot for '91-95 Ford Explorer".

It comes without a boot? Where can I buy a boot? Does it even need a boot?

Is the Heckethorne stabilizer a good one? Any other ones you know of?
Thanks for any info.

I have the rancho stabilizer, it came with the boot. For everything I needed it came to $40. You can buy replacement boots almost anywhere they sell 4x4 supplies, at least around here. I would say the boot is important to keep all the road grime off the piston. I love my ranch, big difference on washboard roads. About 20 minutes to install.

I posted a thread a while back asking if anyone knew anything about Heckethron shocks and most of them hadnt even heard of them. The shock boots should be sold below if you're looking in the magazine. The boot is important to keep it clean, and they only cost like 4 bucks, and theres an assortment of colors you caget them in.

The Heckethorn & Ranch steering stabs. are the same (manufactured by same company).

Rhett,

I have a Rancho and don't use the (red) boot. Pay for shipping and it's yours.
