ok so i cant post in the explorer 911 thread, but i need help. i need someone with a 4 door 96-01 that has installed the PA883 3" body lift, to call me (209.404.2294) or post a reply as to what bolts had to be drilled and, how the hardware was assembled. i read the directions, but i dont know which go for the ranger or explorer, plus i read two threads that had pics but neither gave me a clear indication of what i had to do. so pls if anyone is knowledgable about this, call (preferably) or post a response. any response is greatly appreciated!
Chris

the front mounts are the ones that need to be drilled out to 1/2" and that is the one where the bold and nut goes on..........as for the order of the hardware, i dont remember what length went were....

The two front mounts get drilled out. It's basically the same as the Ranger.

You need a 'Mayday' in the title too. Hopefully the 'SOS' will work on it's own.

get a die, and thread the bolts up 3" higher than they are. then you dont have to drill. thats what i did and my 2" bodylift has held together perfect.

Chris

Nope, you can either reuse a set of the originals that are the appropriate length or buy a couple new ones. The ranger kit has a lot of long bolts and needs 2 more mid sized. I'll see if I can hunt up the thread I found once upon a time that details the actual bolt sizes. Personally though I would just reuse a couple of the original ones.

edit: well I couldn't find the thread I was looking for, but I did find a post from when I installed mine with the bolt lengths. I just took one of the ones in from the kit and handed it to the counter person at the fastener store. Told him what length and he went to find it....

Just make sure you put a bolt in thats three inches longer than the one you took out.

Always thinking....LOL

I think the collar is threaded too. At least mine was. That's why we drill them out. Just keep wrenching.

i cant figure out how to get the front passenger side bolt out, the nut came off, but it just stays in, im lost on ideas, i might just drill it out, but that will take a very long time, any ideas?
As mentioned by some others the front body mounts are threaded (unlike the other mounts). As such you can remove the top nut but will also need to remove the bolt by unscrewing it... Check out my Daystar body mount Install thread for lots of info and pics.

yeah, my dad got a really big pipe wrench on the front mount. i dont know if most people have pipe wrenches that big though.
