I want to get a set of Hella lights. I like them because of the ABS housing and quality. My old ProComp lights started to corrode on me and get water inside and I want to avoid that from happening again. I want something comparable in output to the old 100watt PC lights.

Anyone running or have experience with the Black magic or Rallye 3000. I can't decide what to get, but the BM looks like a deal since it comes in kit form. I don't care about the optics because I'll have covers on them when not in use.

I really like the design of the 4000, but they look just too big to me, and the 500s are too small. So this is where I am at. Any input?

Thanks,

--Sean

My opinion is that the Black Magic only cost what they cost because of the black effect, but if you are going to cover them up I'd say it's not worth the extra money. Have you looked at the Rallye 1000's?. Good light (from my understanding). You are right, the 4000 is a nice light and it is a little large. But it's a very good one. I'm thinking of getting the cornering light at some point down the road.

As for the 3000, I'm not much of a fan of the blue light thing.

Are you looking for a 55 W or a 100 W light? No experience with the PC's.

Dead Link Removed

I'm sorry, but if ya won't something to last..... I won't go on and on like ya know I can. If ya got any questions just ask.

I want a 100w light and there are upgrade bulbs from Hella. I really like the way the 1000s look too. My understaning is that you can still order the old style 3000s w/o the blue lighting effect.

I've got the Rallye 1000's & Comet 500's. They throw a good amount of light. My 500's are turned a bit out so I can see the sides. See my link! The 1000's are a really good light.

I wanted the PIAA's but the price to bring them to me was too much.
I think the Hella Rallye 1000's are great though. I'm kind of toying with the Idea of buying another set (maybe 2). I want to mount them up top on the rack but I'm worried about the reflection off of the Hood!

ROTFL! :D

Yeah, I have read alot about Lightforce, and why leebo put those monsters on his Ex, but I still laugh when I see them. Those are DFINATELY too big! I would need sunglasses to drive  . Those things are like night suns!

I like Hella, because of good things I have heard of them, good product support, and the fact that you can get the wiring, switch, relay and everything in one kit. I just don't know what to get. Although, if I hear more good things about the 1000s, I may go that route.

THey make smaller sizes! LOL

Night Sun is right, light's up the trail just finethankyouverymuch. :D

They do offer smaller sizes also with a 100watt bulb and made of the same lexan if the 9.5 is too much for ya. Looking at adding another set of the 6" to the front.

I think the 1000's are a good route to go.

BTW, The Lightforce are some remarkable lights and put out more light and use less power than the Hella's. The are relatively indestructable. Check out Lee's signature and you'll see. They are some good lights. As far as size, you can get four of a smaller one or two of a bigger one. Lee just has the biggest bulbs out of all of us.

I heard that the Lightforce lights don't come with the wires, switch, relay, or hardware. Sounds like more of a pain in the butt than I want to go. I saw the smaller ones on the website, but I think Hella 1000s sound like a good bet.

Besides, i heard the bigger the light you have, the smaller, your uh, truck looks. :D

Just teasing, thanks for the input guys.

I run the Hella Black Magic's. I really love the light they put out. I have upgraded them to 100 watt bulbs and made the output much greater. The only thing you'll have to do is to upgrade the fuse to a 20 amp because the 15 amp isn't enough to hold the extra wattage of the 100 watt bulbs. This is perfectly okay to do and you can get the fuses at practically any store for around $1 or so. I would highly recommend the Black Magics

black magic is a good light,1000's were
discontinued last month.if you want them
you will need to get them while someone still
has stock.
