Hey guys, my name is Daniel. I have a 91 Ford Explorer 2wd. It's my kid hauler. It's got the 4.0, of course. billet grill, clear front turns, and clear rear lights. I've overtinited the factory tinted rear glass 5%, but thats as far as i've gotten so far. but now the transmission is going out... I think I found one though. its out of a 93 Ford Aerostar with 3.0L. Will this work? Anyone know?

Welcome to this forum! The bell housing, torque converter, and various internal parts are different, but you could swap things to make it fit. The 4.0L version has various upgrades, so the 3.0L version will work but it might not last as long.

what about the 4.0L explorer only 4wd? I've done alil research into it, but haven't realy figured out an answer. I've never messed with transmissions, other than putting one in and changing the flywheel in the explorer when it exploded...

EDITED: I meant flexplate

so it would be a pain in the behind then.....

What other vehicles can I get the correct transmission out of?
