Hello and help

I am new to the group. I have a 1991 ford explorer that has been passed around the family for years. I have a couple of questions yall (yes I said yall) might be able to help me with. I am having tranny problems. One problem is it is losing fluid without a leak. I think I have that figured down to a modulator, but the second is when put in reverse and given some gas it makes an awful noise. Now it did get used to back a trailer (though small) up a driveway. I think this has something to do with it. Also we call it mona. It used to moan a lot due to the power steering pump, but the moan seems to new come from somewhere else. Even the tranny? Any advice?

I am no expert but sometimes the transmission cooling lines that run into the radiator can leak fluid into the cooling system. Does the coolant have an oily film?

Welcome to this forum! Sometimes transfer cases make noise, and the problem is blamed on the transmission.
