Hi all,

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 V6. For the past few months, the 4x4 light would blink 3 times then go out. This morning, the 4x4 low light came on and the truck started driving funny with a jolt when it came to stop. It almost seems like it's stuck in 4x4 low. Can anyone help me with this? There are limited repair shops in my area. The last place I want to take it is to the Ford Dealer.

If you have a check engine light on you may want to pull the code to see what it's pointing to. It could be a bad transfer case control unit, or possibly a bad transfer case shift actuator. We carry these parts on our website, if you find that one of these components have gone bad.
