coming from the import world and SCCA racing heel-toe shifting in a SUV is not very possible. Now if i were to buy this for my integra it would make sense but for driving a manual SUV it is pontless.

that aint true, when wheeling you need good heal toe when workin the clutch in some sections.

Exactly. And you do not have to heel-toe shift. The option is there if you want to. You won't be disappointed with our pedals. Thank you.

I recieved a set of pedals from AutoVation in exchange for letting them run this group purchase. I can honestly say they make a very high quality product. I currently have a set of aftermarket pedals which I have been wanting to get rid of for sometime. The ones I have now clamp to the stock pedals :thumbdwn: I have actually got my shoelaces caught on the clamp behind the pedals and nearly got into an accident because I couldn't press down on the brake:eek: Autovations pedals actually bolt to the original pedals with screws and self locking nuts. That is a MUCH better way of mounting them!

I haven't had a chance to install mine yet, but I will be doing a step-by step install and evaluation once I get my Explorer out of the fab shop which could be as soon as today or as late as, well who knows with the guys down there;)

Exactly. This is one of the reasons we hard mount our pedals. Our hardware provides a secure and safe install just like OEM but with better grip. ;)

Looking forward to the evaluation and pics. Thank you.

Me too, at one time. Way back when, I use to have Razo clip-ons on my 300ZX. They were too bulky and the clips were a problem. The clips also scratch nice shoes.

Bummer. :( Good luck. I hope you get your truck back soon.

I'm embarrassed to say that my truck is STILL in the shop:rolleyes: I thought it would be ready today... Since it was supposed to be completed minus bleeding the steering system Friday afternoon. It wasn't anywhere near as close to being done as I had expected when I saw it today. SUPPOSEDLY I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow.

In the meantime I'm bumping this thread to the top.

Ok I finally have my pedals installed! There's a bit of a story as to why this took so long. When the pedals that I ordered for my '93 Explorer arrived the new aluminum pedal coudn't be installed on the stock brake pedal using all three bolts. Turns out that the brake pedal on the manual transmission Explorer is different than the one on the auto tranny trucks. Autovation had built their products around the auto tranny truck. When I discovered the problem I wrote Autovation and explained the problem. They took care of things right away and sent me new pedals for both the brake and the clutch (so they would match) The new pedals had the bolt holes installed in the perfect location.

So all is well right? Well... not quite. Most everyone here knows I can't leave anything alone... So I decided that the etched out section of my pedals that says "4x4" needed to be painted orange to match the truck :D So I painted the whole middle area of the pedal, waited for them to dry and went over them with a sanding disc on an air grinder. It worked perfectly on the first pedal just removing the excess paint and not touching the lettering, unfortunately on the second pedal I got a bit heavy with the sanding disc and blew right threw the etching :( So... I ruined one of the pedals :(:banghead: Thankfully I had still had the pedal which could only be installed with two screws... That's the reason for the mis-match in the photos.

Be assured if you order pedals for a manual trans Explorer early model Explorer you'll get the right parts with the bolt holes in the correct location.

Thanks to Autovation for a great product and great service!
