This is my first post as a Explorer owner and Explorer Enthusiast member. I am a proud owner a 06 Explorer Limited. I love the luxury it has to offer and the smooth ride. However, when I brake and come to a hault I feel a slight jerk forward then a stand still. Being this is my first Ford Explorer does anyone have any ideas or recommendations thanks for taking the time to read my post. System test checks out the brakes being okay.

I checked using the system check in the dashboard brakes read ok. I will take it to a local brake shop to check it further in to detail. It's a 2006 Explorer Limited so I do have rear disc brakes. I checked the brake fluid cause I just had all liquids changed and checked. It's like a slight jerk forward when I'm coming to a stop doesn't occur all the time but it's apparent when it happens.

How is your idle? If your idle is loping a bit it can make you feel like you're surging foreward at a stop.

How can I check to see if my parking brakes are properly adjusted? The truck is brand new so Idle is pefect doesn't even sound like the truck is even on when it is. I just have a slight jerk when braking not at the start but toward to end when I'm about to fully stop feels like a small jerk.

Welcome To Explorer Forum! Maybe you are not used to it yet. I know that my explorer brakes way different than my Mustang, or Durango.
