hello from a new member and a question please

Hello to all I've just started on here and need a little info. I just bought a 99 explorer xl and was trying to install an aftermarket radio where the factory am/fm/cassette was. I used one of the adapter harnesses (that left off a smaller square plug with only 1 wire in it) everything lights up on my stereo but, no sound. Please someone rescue me...Thanks in advance:navajo:

did you use crimp connectors or wire nuts?
sometimes they come loose, i drove around without a rear left spkr for 2 mo.s before i fixed it

I used the wire nuts and electrical tape to secure my connesctions. I understand theres something about a factory amp, I just need to bypass it somehow

Welcome to this forum! Check all of the connections from one point to another. I think that this question would get more attention in the audio & navigation section of this forum.
