Hello there, I'm new to this forum and Always try to keep my rides in good shape.
Proud to found this site for intel, advice and comments about my (should i'm calling it truck?) car.
Lets begin with my introduction.
Name is Sebastiaan Seip, living in the netherland (verry bad country to live in if you like big cars).
I'm in my 30's now, trying to mke the most of it with my US cars.
Always loved the big ones, Always choose cars with at least Rear Wheel Drive, or like the explorer 4x4.
As Job i'm driving semi's, now for almost 9 years. don't like it at all, still good money to keep my hobby allive.
Two days ago, i'm sold my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis with many Crown Vic parts and full mod to the P71 based car.
The 4R70W transmission gone bad, replacement had cost me 9 times the car it has cost me as buying price.
Trown her out, had good time with it.....time for another one.
my eyes came hold onto 1998 Ford Explorer 4.0i SOHC with 5R55E transmission. Should be 5 speed right?
Also want to know if the 5R55E gearbox is reliable. Does it have some weak points? am i save right now? is it bad one to have?
Also how does the V6 in his lifetime? in kilometers it has now 266.x.. kilometers on it.
As checkpoint on drivetrain, what so i have to look for? are there some service point to fill it with fat? if so where are they?

For now, i'm showing my ride,
The 1998 Ford Explorer.
