2001 explorer sport
Hi, this is the first time posting on here but I've been reading through for about a month. So I just figured I would introduce my self. I'm matt and have an 01 explorer sport in which the motor has gone once at about 70,000 miles for an unknown reason  but have put a little more then 3000 miles since the new motor and no more problems besides squeeky brakes which i can't seem to figure out and will have to investigate again once its a bit warmer out. thats about it.

Welcome To The Forum! The squeak you maybe hearing is a clip on the brake pads, when your brake pads start getting too thin there is a metal piece that will scrape along the rotors to warn you that you'll need brakes soon to get them serviced.

i know what normally makes the breaks squeak but thats not what is doing it on mine. When i first test drove the car the breaks were squeaking so the dealer said the changed the discs and pads and the sound went away for a month or two but then it starting coming back a lot quieter and not all the time. so i took the brakes apart and checked the pads and they had plenty left on them i cleaned everything and put the anti-squeal stuff on the pads and put it all back together and was fine for a couple of days then it started doing it again and has just got progressively worse.
I only have one picture that I can find of my explorer so here it is... and you can see my 69 el camino project in the back a little.
