Hey, thought I would join after previewing this site for a while. Lots of great information to be found...I pretty much started looking into this when my dad said he might give me our 2000 Mountaineer that my mom bought new, when I get my license which will hopefully be soon enough. The mounty is a 5.0 AWD with over 210k and still running strong, pretty much all factory options except heated seats and multi disc cd changer. I would love to have the truck but right now the front end makes this unbearable humming noise, which goes away at about 60 mph. After searching I found this is probably the bearings/hubs/tie rod ends?
Anyway I'm on the fence on what to do. I know my dad won't let me lift it, so I was thinking of the cragar soft 8's with some 31's. Or possibly some 18's or some other "sport" rim with low pro's and a little lower.
