Hi!
Proud owner of a late 92 explorer with over 280000 (yeah that is the right number of zeros!) and just having a load of problems with it. Will be posting in 911 to get some help. I need to get this running right away. Single mom starting new job next week.

Thanks for the welcome. I am having problems finding where exactly the battery cables run to. I've taken the positive off the starter, but now I've run into a "harness" for lack of a better word, that has both the positive cable and some other group of wiring strapped together. It appears to be metal, and I don't know how to get to positive cable out of there. I'm not a mechanic, so if you can walk me thru it, or help me that would be great. I also need to figure out how to get the blower motor out to replace it. I have no heat right now. Any help someone can give would be great. We are expecting snow tomorrow, and I need this running tomorrow night.

I really appreciate any help I can get at this point. I'm out of answers, and parts have cost me an arm and a leg, and I don't want to give my explorer up!

The blower motor has small bolts all around it. It's easy to replace. The battery cables are thick, so they should be easy to trace.

I have traced the positive cable to a harness that I am not sure how to remove. It seems to be a metal harness. I need to get that off and I don't know how.

Do you have a membership with a site like photobucket? Unless you have elite membership on this site, there is no other way to get a picture from your camera onto this site.

Not sure you can see it, we are inside the passanger front wheel well. There is a metal harness holding the 2 groups of wires. One is the positive battery cable, the other I am not sure what is in that group. I posted the pics on myspace. Here is the link.
