Hi my name is Kris or lammy, either is fine with me. I have recently purchased a 1999 4.0 V6 Explorer and love every bit of it, although im sure i can love it even more if i can get it to look and sound EXACTLY how ide like it to. . im new to this forum stuff so not to sure how it all works but given a little time im sure it will all become clear.

Ahh excellent...im having a little trouble using this site. I wonder if you could help me. I have a few questions ide like answered about Wheels, Exhaust and the brake light switch. Do i have to find the right place to go for each question or do i ask all questions in the same place?..
sorry if that doesnt make much sense.
Ive tried to find the answer i need aboutt he wheels but it was all a little confusing, so i thought it might be easier to just actually ask someone.

Yep. $20 bucks for the year. Basically the way I looked at it, was that since the site saved me over $20 in repairs, I figured it was a good way to support the site. Rick (admin of the site) mentioned it costs about $300 per month to keep this site up and running.

Just checked it out Sam....Nice motor.
And its the V8. not many V8 over here. mine is the V6 so sound rubbish but trying desperatly to do somehting about that. My 1999 also looks like the wheels are to far under the arches, so ive even been lookin into getting some spacers fitted.
i noticed you got side steps too. Maybe i could fit some side steps. it might make the wheels look a little less like they are trying to trip the car up. At the moment my explorer is completely standard although i am trying to sort some things. its just not that easy in this town.
can i ask, what are your thoughts on removing the little rear silencer from the exhaust to improve sound? i had a plan to just cut the pipe after the big silencer and just have a straight through from there...are you with me?..lol

i had one of my friends help me remove the silencer it made my explorer sound more louder and deeper. My sport is the 4.0 sohc engine but i wana do more stuff to it.

like put intake and supercharger and headers and hids and some other stuff to it. I might be getting rid of my running boards but i am not to sure yet.

Oh i do apologise, i assumed your was the V8 since you had Dual exhausts.
i dont suppose you would have any idea if dual exhausts would fit a 1999?
or indeed if your running boards would fit?

yeah it sounds loud for a V-6 and a lot of people think i got the V-8 engine in it.

My flowmasters were 390 bucks for them and I love them a lot it sounds real loud and deep. I got the 40 series flowmasters.

you should go on the flowmastermufflers.com thats the website on flowmasters and yeah they should fit on ur 99.

I have a friend that has a 99 explorer and he is thinkin of putting dual exhaust on his.

hey lammy i also lucky cause some people cant do dual exhaust like i did cause a lot of places said the spare tire is in the way.

But I was lucky I still got my spare tire underneath my explorer. Lammy do u got aim or yahoo messanger it would be an honor to chat with u and talk about explorers or anything in general.

I got both aim and yahoo. I dont got msn i used to have it but i got rid of it.
