Whats up everyone? Newbie here looking to buy a 98-01 Explorer 5.0 awd or 4wd. My friend has a 98 Mountaineer awd 5.0 with over 200000 on the clock and still running strong. Never had to replace anything major so now I want one. Ive been a euro car guy for ten years but got sick of fixing expensive ****. So... any input from you guys would be great.

You might search forum for opinions on AWD vs. 4WD. They are different. Some guys have a preference. I've got a '98 Mountaineer 5.0 w/AWD. It's rock solid in bad weather driving but not real adept at serious off-roading.
