Hello all.
I've just completed a valve cover gasket replacement on my 2002 4.0L SOHC 4WD Explorer, with help from several threads on here. I've gotten everything back together (after hours of messing with the EGR tube), and now I've got a rough idle and a hissing sound from the rear of the upper intake manifold.
I replaced the intake manifold gaskets while I was doing the job, so maybe they are not seated properly? I am reeeaaallly not wanting to take it back off now that I have it back on, but I have already felt around the PCV tube and other vacuum hoses and I don't feel anything broken.
Any ideas would be helpful. It runs, but not well, and I would like to get it fixed while I have the wheel off to access the EGR tube fitting on the manifold.
PS - Don't listen to people who say you can "bend" the EGR tube if it doesn't come loose from the manifold... Took me two hours to get the bend back correctly.
