Hi Please can someone help. Today I replaced the front discs & pads with no problem.
But on the tightening of the last Caliper mounting Bolt it snapped.
I have spent all afternoon searching the internet for a supplier to no avail all Ive found is suppliers in USA who either wont send over here or want nearly $90+ to send 2 bolts.

Please can anyone give me any details of a supplier over here who can supply ASAP as were going away next weekend but only if I can get this problem fixed.

My Explorer is a 1999 4ltr and the Part No details Ive got is a Motorcraft BRCK5064A caliper repair kit.

Cheers

Axl

I can get dorman over here but I need the whole slider as well coz bolts broke of inside & I cant get that bit out. Other wise Id be Ok just getting the replacement bolt!

All Sorted!

On Sunday I spent about 2 hours with WD 40 & hammer and small punch with the slider
in vice. After carefully tapping the bit if broken bolt it eventually came loose & I was able to get it out with pliers. I had a bolt same size to replace so I was able to put the caliper slider back in & bolt it in. The explorer now runs safely & brakes are 100% better. I also found a supplier for 4 new sliders & bolts which when then arrive I will install just to make sure everything is OK & No bolt is likely to snap.

Thanks for all advice.

Cheers

Hi axlrose
If you are ever in need of parts pm chrisquelch. He breaks explorers and has a stash of parts. Of course they are used but could get you out of a bind whilst you source new.
I have also found justin at explorerpartsuk (ebay) is a good lad and will post stuff out quick
