Ok,
Before i start I have done a search, about 4 pages deep, and havent found too much on my problem. Im hoping you can help!
Ok, I just took a 600mile road trip through the VA Mountains, and had a problem on the way back. The truck did perfect on the way there, but on the way back I noticed the temp guage at about 3/4 to the right. It has NEVER been this hot, so I pull over. When I pop the hood, I am greeted with a billow of smoke, and a loud hissing from the passenger side of the engine. I look under the truck, and see a small stream of coolant leaking down onto the axle. It wasnt pouring out, but I could tell it leaked. I also noticed a little spray on top of the engine. The truck was too hot to dig into it, and see where it was coming from, but i did notice it was at the front-passengar side of the engine. I filled it up with water/coolant, and went on my way(didnt have a choice). The truck did great all the way home, never got to the halfway point on the temp guage. Well I get home, and in my driveway, and the temp shoots up to about 3/4 I see smoke, and hear the hiss again. I crwal up under the truck, and see coolant falling. This time it appears to be falling at a faster rate. Now its currently storming out, and dark, so i cant tear into it, but im hoping someone could tell from the location I gave, something about this leak. Remember the truck runs perfect(temp did NOT go into the red zone), no white smoke, nothing, except the leak. Once again, it appears to be coming from the front, passengar side of the engine, about halfway down. The radiator hose does not appear to be leaking. Any insite into this would be great. I know I havent given you much info to work with, so thanks in advance for your buest-guesses.
