I took my 94 through a water hole, came out and it died. It acts like the battery is dead , the solenoid clicks and the engine barely moves. I hooked up a new battery and still nothing. Please help, this just happened and my ford is sitting in the woods 2 miles away.

it sounds like you hydrolocked your engine. Open the airbox, is your air cleaner sopping wet? If it is your engine is full of water. If your're lucky all you have to do is pull out your spark plugs and dry them off. Then with all the plugs out turn the engine over until water stops coming out of the engine. Then replace the plugs. It should start. If not, you might have killed your engine permanently. Sorry.

Zensius is right. Sounds like you hydrolocked it. His solution is correct. If the motor doesn't turn over with the plugs out, there is a good chance you have water between the rings, which will stop it from turning over. Only solution then is to tear down the motor and see what's wrong. If you are lucky, you might get away with just having to take the motor apart and put it back together. Worst case is a new motor. ExplorerEB96 did that move at Paragon, and it cost her a new motor :(

What you need is one of these...It's what I did after I hydrolocked last summer.

I was only in about 1 1/2 ft. of water. I have deeper than that before with no problems.

Check the filter, pull the plugs, and follow the instructions above...
I too have been in deeper water before, but in January, I sucked it full...Mine did the same as yours...Good luck

I did what you said and it worked. It runs, not great but i was able to get it home. I think I got water past the rings, when I drained the oil I noticed it had gotten water in it. I guess now I can just hope it will be ok.
