- 2002 Explorer XLT
Hello everyone.
I was wondering if you could help me identify the transmission on a 2002 Explorer XLT 4.6 V8 I recently bought that's giving me some trouble.
My understanding is that it should have a 5R55W transmission, but I've found out this vehicle has been messed with before so I'm not entirely sure, and I would like to know for certain before rebuilding it. Could it also be a 5R55e or a 5R55s transmission?
Here's a recreation I did of the little plaque that's on the transmission case - I don't really know how to interpret the information it has.
I'm also attaching a picture of it, but it's barely legible even though I upped the contrast a lot.
The little plaque on the driver's side door only says "Transmission: T" which I don't know about either and is probably different from what American vehicles have (it's a Venezuelan vehicle).
Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if this is a dumb question.
