Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open or its the wrong one.

Did you burp the air out of the cooling system after refilling it? Is your top rad hose getting hot after the truck runs a little?

all hoses are getting hot and the motor is still warm but the heaster is blowing cold and i have driven it about 4000 miles you would think that the air bubbles would have worked out by now right

having the same problem, what did u do to fix it.

USD.. Up side down water thingy?

Well the air bubbles cant work theyre way out of rubber or anything...you gotta let em out lol, dont ask me how todo it, I just know from reading threads on here....basically like bleeding brakes im assuming?

You have to lift the front of the rig, run the engine, turn off the engine, run the engine, turn off the engine, and let the bubbles work there way out the vent tube on the radiator.

You most likely have air trapped in your heater core, meaning no heat.

Take the RTV out of the bag...

You have to let the system purge. Make sure your overflow isnt clogged and it has coolant in it.

Run the engine up to temp then hold the rpms at about 2.5-3k rpm for a bit to get the temp up. System should push the bubbles out.

I apologise if you instaled it corectly. It is a common error to put it in backwards, and if you did laugh it off. We all do it now and again because for some its not a living, just a hoby.

Anywhere you see an explorer, you have a brother!

No purge required if you do this:

Before installing the new thermostat, drill a 1/8" hole in it.
This hole allows air to escape the block, even with the
thermostat closed, but dosen't affect the cooling system
operation at all.....

alright an update i put thermo upside down duhhhhhh. well still no heat but the motor is heating up i am going to try to back flush the radiator to get some deposits out of the heater core and i the kit comes with a pressure relief valve in the intake hose of the heater core so no need for jacking

It happens- at least you're on the right track now.

My buddy James tore apart his '92 SHO to replace the plugwell seals to fix an obnoxious oil leak. After cleaning everything carefully and reinstalling everything (well, he thought so) he fired up the car. went for a drive and got home- oil everywhere- all over the freshly simple green'd engine bay.. He forgot to put the new plugwell seals in- and the oil filler cap. :D
