Welcome to the forum. You will get many hours of information here & feel free to do searches in this catagory.

Not sure what to tell you about the radio.... should come out if you cobble some tools that allow you to insert into the sides at the same time, then you should be able to pull it out.

Check engine light could be just about anything. You could go to Autozone (are they in Texas??) & have them run the code for free. They have those computers they will hook up to the truck that reads the code & gives a list of parts that are assoicated with the fault. Don't know if the light has to be constant or if they can read the stored codes in the computer.

Sorry for not being much help, but it's better then nothing
Walter

For the radio, get 2 pieces of a metal coat hangar. Bend each piece into a "U" shape and push both pieces into the radio holes. The radio should pull out. As the previous poster said, most Autozones will pull codes for free. Get the codes pulled and post them back to the forum. Your problem could be the throttle position sensor. The codes will tell.

thanks im gonna head to autozone today and get the codes.... can yall tell what they are if i put them up here?

ok so i took my car... because the check engin light isnt actuily on ne more nothing came up... but i got all the crap i needed to put my stereo in and i was wondering do you need a mounting kit cuz i got one for my make/modle and it looks complicated... plus can somebody give me a step by step to install the head unit cuz i cant seem to get the dash off to take the old unit out... thanks

My new radio came with it's own frame that fit nicely without any extra mounting kit, so I'm not sure what to tell you. I did see the aftermarked kit at Autozone & yes, it does look a little hard.
