HELP my Exploder wont start

I have replaced just about EVERYTHING, starter, solenoid, cables, but all it will do is click click at the solenoid, starter does't turn, its brand new starter?????? I have had the starter checked, its fine, just does't turn over. Any help would be greatly apperciated, I miss my play toy.... :fire: its a 90 xl 4x4 4.0l 245cid

Did you check the starter relay? It is located on the inside fenderwell near the battery. The pos cable runs to it, then sends power to the starter when you turn the key. If the contacts are bad, it may just make a clicking noise but not send any power to the starter. You can jump around it to test.

When you say it clicks at the solenoid, are you talking about the solenoid on the firewall/fender, or the one on the starter

Good point, if you have a bad cell (or two) it could also cause the same symptoms.

Does it start with jumper cables? Then it's a battery/charging circuit problem.
