The mechanic tells me that it is because of a failure of the ABS Pump (the one that is on the frame under the driver's seat). The cost of the part alone is $200.00, plus labor, but I currently don't have the money to fix it and need to keep using the truck ('92 model year, rear ABS only).
Will the brakes work fine (no ABS) if I by-pass the ABS pump and take the ABS fuse out of the fuse box? (after properly bleeding the brakes, of course!). As far as I understand, after that my truck would have full function of the brakes with no ABS at all.
Please let me know if this right or not.
Thanks,
Mando
