Help needed...

My1998 (centre reg plate) Ex failed on the MOT on Monday for both front brake pipes (the pipes that lead to the flexi pipe on each side) I had tofly out to the US on Tuesday morning at the last minute without having chance to look at the pipes.

Can anyone answer me the following:

1. How long are each of the pipes (approx)
2. does anyone know what size (thread) the union fittings are on each end ?

Any help would be appreciated so i can pick up the right parts while out here in the US

I think Howard is your man; if anyone knows this stuff it's him.

Have you stuck your head into your local dealer and asked them? I'm sure they will have this info. available.


...but if you're out there are you going to order stuff from RockAuto? There were just a couple of things I was after...and was wondering...maybe perhaps...kinda bring back a few things for me please?

When I replaced mine I just used copper pipe and a flare tool. I used the existing fittings just on the new pipe. Sorry did not measure the length as just cut pipe to fit.

Ive looked on Autozones website and put my Ex's details in but they have so many different brake lines with unions on in different lengths and unions! they even have one line listed as for British Ex's!! so im not really sure which i need, the british line is 8" long and i cant remember how long those lines to the flexi are

If the things are small that you want bringing back drop me a message, its no problem at all, i'll let you know address to get them sent to, i eave here on the 17th Feb but am back in the US to weeks later too and 3 weeks after that
