I recently replaced the headlight switch plug because the old plug was melted and distorted, after my headlights started randomly flickering on and off. It seemed to fix the issue for a couple of weeks and then it started again, and I noticed that the new plug is starting to melt and burn in the same places. So I had to drive from my friends house tonight and as soon as I turned the headlights on they started to flicker tso I put a penny in front of the highbeam/stalk switch to keep the highbeams on and I got about a mile down the road and the headlights went out completely, and the high beam indicator stays on when I pull the headlight switch. If if helps I have aftermarket headlight bulbs. That are 80w low and 100w high.

I appreciate any help.
thanks in advance.

80W low 100W high? 9004 bulbs with a plastic base?

You've probably fried the circuit doing that. Overwattage bulbs on plastic bases in plastic housings on stock wiring circuits are a no-no. If you're lucky, you can just throw in the correct 45W/65W 9004 bulbs, replace a relay/fuse and the switch, and have a working circuit again.

They're some japanese bulbs that are almost as bright as h.I.d.s but I've had them for over a year now with no problems untill now. I seriously debated on getting the heavy duty headlight harnesses but. Decided against it. And I also installed a new radio and sometimes when I pull the headlight switch the radio will flash off/on.
