I've got a 2002 Explorer in which the 6 disc changer quit working. I ordered a replacement online that was "supposed to fit" but the plugs do not match up.

The bad radio that I took out was a 1L2F-18C815-BC. The replacement I was sent is a 4L2T-18C815-CE.

I've contacted the vendor about sending the correct unit but have not gotten a response yet. In the mean time, I wanted to see if there was a way to make the 4L2T-18C815-CE work. Are there any adapters available or is there a way to hard wire? Just wanted to see if there was a way to make it work that would be easier then doing the return on the radio that was sent.

Thanks

There are adapters made by Metra but you have over 30 wires to match up . .

1L2F-18C815-BC - '01 (1) L2F ??? Early Ex?
4L2T-18C815-CE - '04 (4) L2T - Ex same as mine

You need to find the color of the plugs in back of the radio. Sounds like you need a '02-'03 replacment if the plugs don't match.
