Ok first off don't laugh. I am changing my oil today I got the drain plug off and the oil out however, the oil filter wrench that I have had for 10 years will not fit in the space to take off the filter. I know I probably should have checked first. Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously I can't drive to the store to get a new wrench.

Just fill it up with new oil with existing filter, and try again in the next couple of weeks?

NOT.... A large pair of chanell loc pliers often can get the filter off. Maybe go to an auto parts store and get a filter removal toop ( maybe the cap type that uses a wrench to loosen the filter.

Take your time and get that filter off.

Good luck ....

If you can't find a tool to get the filter off, just change the oil and do another change in the near future.

I finally got it off thanks to my new besst friend, extra coarse sandpaper. So after today my list of mods include KKM, and Mobil 1 synthetic. Thanks guys

Way to go; I knew you could do it.

remember to rub a little bit of oil on the rubber seal of the new filter to avoid this in the future
