Hi, I did a search and it seems most likely I would need to replace the cat to get rid of this code on my 02'. What are the chances the o2 sensor is just faulty? If I do need to replace the converter, will an after market one flow the sufficient amount to not set off any more codes? I do have a pretty decent scanner if anyone has any suggestions. Any help is appreciated! Thank's :)

You can try to replace the oxygen sensors, but it may not help. Does you scanner have the ability to graph data? If so you can watch the upstream sensors and the downstream sensor and drive on the highway. The upstream sensor choud be switching rapidly and the downstream sensor should be much slower. The the sownstream is switching at the same rate as the upstream the cat is bad and there is not much you can do. So places used to sell adapters to trick the computer that the cat was ok. This was sued when people would remove the cats entirely and did not want a check engine light to come on.

Maybe this will help:

DTC
P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

Description
Indicates Bank 2 catalyst system efficiency is below the acceptable threshold.

Possible Causes
- Use of leaded fuel
- Damaged HO2S
- Malfunctioning ECT
- High fuel pressure
- Damaged exhaust manifold
- Damaged catalytic converter
- Oil contamination
- Cylinder misfiring
- Downstream HO2S wires improperly connected
- Damaged exhaust system pipe
- Damaged muffler/tailpipe assemply
- Retarded spark timing

Diagnostic Aids
Compare HO2S upstream and downstream switch rate and amplitude. Under normal closed loop fuel conditions, high efficiency catalysts have oxygen storage which makes the switching frequency of the downstream HO2S very slow and reduces the amplitude of those switches as compared to the upstream HO2S. As catalyst efficiency deteriorates, its ability to store oxygen declines and the downstream HO2S signal begins to switch more rapidly with increased amplitude, approaching the switching rate and amplitude of the upstream HO2S. Once beyond an acceptable limit the DTC is set.
